Cone Beam CT- Pax -500 ECT

Conebeamct-webThe newly developed PaX-500 ECT provides a CT level high quality cross-sectional and 3D rendered images.
PaX-500 ECT takes only 8 seconds of scanning time with relatively low X-ray exposure to the patient. It uses image construction algorithm like a CT but with 1-tenth the radiation exposure to the patient compared with other conventional tomography equipment. The 3 in 1 solution (panoramic, cephalometric and tomogram) allows accurate and fast diagnosis and treatment planning.

Digital Intraoral Radiographs

xraywebThe new Durr Dental Perio image plates combine the advantages of flexible X-ray films with modern digital technology to make it more comfortable for the patient. The sophisticated PCS-technology from Durr Dental gives extremely efficient exploitation of the X ray information present on the image plate.

Surgical Room

surgicalroom_webThe Oral Care Centre has a surgical room set-up which is equipped with a surgical light; a specialised surgical micromotor; dedicated monitoring equipment and provisions for sedation with a visiting anaesthetist.

What all this means to the discerning patient is a hospital-level standard of care and sophistication for surgical management without compromising on comfort and privacy.

The Wand

thewand-webThe CompuDent system (also known as The Wand) features state-of-the-art technology that makes painful injections a thing of the past. This revolutionary system, consisting of two main elements, the CompuDent computer and the Wand handpiece, features a pain-free approach to delivering local anaesthetic.

The traditional dental syringe has changed very little since its introduction in 1853. The pain from the injection is due to the pressure created that is needed to inject anaesthetic solution which cannot be finely controlled. In the era of modern dentistry it would seem fitting to use computers to deliver minimal pain dental anaesthesia.

The Wand is a computer-controlled dental injection. This means that the injection is guaranteed to be slow and steady and therefore comfortable. Researchers have found that the Wand induces less anxiety than any other injection method (Kudo et al, 2001). The precise control of flow rate and pressure reliably produces a comfortable injection even in potentially more “difficult” areas like the palate, where the tissue is less elastic.

Inhalation Sedation

Also known as the “Happy Gas”. It is an odorless mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen breathed through a nosepiece. Inhalation sedation takes a few minutes to become effective and patients also will take only a few minutes to recover at the end of the procedure.

Inhalation Sedation helps anxious children to feel relaxed and will make them more likely to accept dental treatment. It is a safe and recommended form of sedation for children.

It is NOT general anaesthesia. Your child will remain conscious and be able to understand and respond to verbal commands.
